Privacy at Rido
Privacy Policy
This policy clearly explains what Rido collects in the customer app, driver app, and website, why it is used, who receives it, and how to delete it.
Last updated: July 22, 2026
We use data only as needed to operate rides, protect accounts, and settle payments. We do not sell your data, use advertising SDKs, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.
Scope and responsible service
Taxi Rido is responsible for this service and its privacy practices. This policy covers the “Rido — Request Your Ride” customer app (com.ridotaxi.customerapp), the “Rido Driver” app (com.ridotaxi.driverapp), ridotaxi.com, and their connected server interfaces.
“Rido” or the “service” means all of these interfaces. If new processing materially affects your data, we will update this page and the relevant store disclosures before using it.
Data we collect and process
We process data you provide and data created when you use features you choose, including:
- Account data: name, phone number, optional email, hashed password, and profile photo when provided.
- Ride data: pickup, destination, stops, route, distance and timing, fare and payment method, ride status and history, ratings, and saved places.
- Precise location: customer location while selecting or following a ride and driver location while online or carrying out a ride.
- Driver and vehicle data: profile photo, availability, vehicle details, plate number and photos, and approval documents required by the service operator.
- Content and communications: ride-chat text, voice or images, support requests, and ratings.
- Financial data: wallet balances, payments, settlements and discounts, driver earnings and commission, withdrawal details when provided, and payment-gateway responses when enabled.
- Identifiers and technical data: account identifier, push token, session information, IP address, device type, app version, connection status, and security or error logs when available.
- Website data: the display-theme preference stored locally on your device and essential server logs used for security and diagnostics. The website currently uses no advertising cookies or advertising analytics.
Location and device permissions
Each app asks for permission when a clear feature needs it. You can change permissions in device settings, but disabling an essential permission stops the related feature.
The customer app does not request always-on location permission. It uses location while selecting pickup or destination and following an active ride. The driver app uses precise location while the driver is online to receive rides and while travelling to or carrying out a ride, and this may continue in the background so dispatch and tracking do not stop.
- On Android, driver tracking runs as a visible foreground service. On iOS, it uses background-location permission and the system location indicator.
- If the network is unavailable, the driver app may temporarily keep location points on the device and send them after connectivity returns to preserve the ride record.
- A driver can stop operational tracking by going offline. Either app user can revoke permission in device settings at any time.
- Camera or photos and microphone are used only when you choose to capture or attach an image or record a voice message. The apps use the system image picker and do not request broad photo-library access.
- Notifications provide ride-status, message, and important account alerts.
How we use data
- Create and verify accounts and prevent abuse.
- Estimate fares, match drivers, operate rides, share arrival status, and keep ride history.
- Send notifications and support customer-driver-service communication.
- Manage wallets, payments, settlements, refunds, and disputes.
- Protect the service, detect fraud, resolve failures, and improve performance.
- Comply with valid legal and regulatory requirements.
Your choices and controls
You can review and update profile data in the app, manage notifications and permissions in the app or device, take the driver app offline to stop operational tracking, and request correction of inaccurate data or deletion of the account. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a data request.
Open account deletion pageSecurity and processing locations
We use HTTPS and WSS in transit, password hashing, secure session storage on the device, administrative access controls, and security logs. No electronic method is completely risk-free.
Rido or its providers may process data on servers inside or outside Iraq depending on the infrastructure location, while limiting access to the stated purpose and applying appropriate safeguards.
Retention and deletion
We keep account data while the account is active and operational data only as long as needed to provide the service. When an account is deleted, contact and sign-in data, personal content, and attachments are erased or permanently disconnected from the account holder’s identity.
Ride, location, transaction, and settlement records may remain disconnected from identity only for the period necessary for accounting, safety, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal duties, and are then deleted or anonymized. We do not retain data indefinitely for backup convenience or reuse it for advertising.
You can delete the account through Profile → Delete account after completing active rides and settling wallet or withdrawal balances. If you cannot sign in, submit a web request; we target completion within 30 days after ownership verification and satisfaction of those conditions.

The service is not intended for independent accounts by people below the legal age. A parent or guardian who believes a child created an account or supplied personal data without authority can contact us to request review and deletion.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, its providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the new version at this URL with a revised date and provide additional in-service notice when a change is material.
